DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:
 

The Department of Personnel & Administration (DPA) provides centralized human resources, information, tools, resources and materials needed for Colorado state government to function. The Department provides the infrastructure by which the rest of state government operates. The programs and services provided by DPA are vitally important to the efficient and effective operation of state government.  Due to the nature of the Department’s business, service to customers is the Department’s driving force.  The Department’s customer base is three-fold; DPA serves state agencies, state employees, and the public.

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
Duties:  Provide clinical assessment and counseling; referral as appropriate to additional health, mental health, social service and community resources; case coordination with other caregivers and resources; urgent services and triage as necessary to promote safety in high-risk situations. 

Provide consultation, guidance, and feedback to supervisors and managers on development and implementation of strategies for enhancing functioning of employees and work-group.  Provide written information to assist, structure and provide follows ups to maximize opportunities for goal attainment, and engage with leaders to enhance their capacities. 

Via regular telephone and intermittent face-to-face contact, provide supervision of subordinate staff based in several non-Denver field offices, and provide direct and indirect supervision of trainees to assure quality of services.  Maintain professional expertise in EAP services and specialty areas.

 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SUBSTITUTIONS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree AND four years of professional experience in mental health in one or a combination of the following:  psychology, social work, counseling, or psychiatric nursing which must have included one year of supervision of professional staff.

Substitutions 
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a doctorate degree may substitute for two years of the mental health experience but not for the one year supervision of  professional staff.

NECESSARY REQUIREMENT:  Must be licensed in the state of Colorado as an LPC, LCSW or LMFT, PhD or PsyD.  (You MUST attach your license to your on line application to meet the requirements).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional experience in employee assistance 
  • Experience with managerial consultation and organizational development
  • Two or more years of supervision of professional staff

This position will work 32 hours per week.
